We call this the Package because it truly is a package - Domain Name, Hosting, and Home Page. The Plus500 plan is web hosting only for those who have a domain name and wish to develop their own site.

What's a web presence going to cost you?

First there's the domain name (web name). Network Solutions, the original registrar, charges $70 for a minimum of two years.  Now there are other registrars, and you may find some who will register your name for as little as $20 for one year. Isn't competition great? By the way, you really don't want a sub-domain to someone else's web name. That looks terrible. Well, it's ok for a personal vanity page, maybe.

Then you need a hosting service to hold your pages. Free ones put annoying and un-businesslike advertising banners on every page. Nothing's really free, you see. Checking around, you'll see all kinds of prices, but a real lowball is $9.95 a month for like 50 megabytes. You'll need extras like an e-mail box or at least mail forwarding to the one you're using now. But really you want to use your own domain for e-mail, like chiefcookandbottlewasher@yourdomain.com.

Now you need special software and lots of time to learn how to use it to write the HTML programming language used in web pages (plus Java, CGI, Perl, etc.). Also you'll need the software to upload your pages to the World-Wide-Web. People who do this charge $100 each for simple text pages, and lots more for complicated ones.

Finally, you'll have to be constantly checking and testing your page for broken links, obsolete data, etc. Again, we ask, what's all that going to cost you? With us, it's only $95 a year (that's less than $8 a month). For that we include all the following:

• Your own registered domain renewed each year for no additional cost
• Unlimited space on our 24x7 servers for a HUGE site (with lots of pictures)
• No popup or banner ads (except the ones you want)
• No limit to the traffic your site can handle. (We don't meter the usage.)
• Email forwarding automatically and instantaneously to your preferred mailbox (anyone@yourdomain.com)
• A great-looking home page, with links to other sites or your other pages. Not really free, but included in the price. We design it with your data and suggestions.
• Maintenance to your web page during the year
• By the way, others charge a setup fee, but we don't. That IS free.

Add it up. If you can find a better deal anywhere, tell us, because we'd like to use it.
